Woman Injured in Hermitage Hit and Run Accident
As the saying goes, accidents happen. While this is true in some situations, when it comes to automobile collisions in Pennsylvania and elsewhere, fault can often be applied to one or more motorists. Negligence or reckless is often to blame, stemming from a driver speeding, texting while driving or driving while intoxicated. These drivers are breaching their duty to travel safe, and those upholding this duty are put at risk of being involved in a collision despite the fact that they are following the rules of the road.
Other motorists are not the only ones at risk of being involved in an accident. Pedestrians are also at risk, especially if a motorist is speeding or driving distracted. This is what recently occurred in Hermitage. According to recent reports, a motorist struck a woman and did not stop following the collision.
Reports indicated that a dark colored sedan driven by a young male struck the woman as she walked in Hermitage Towne Plaza. After the vehicle struck the woman, the driver did not stop. The woman was seriously injured and was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Investigation of this pedestrian accident is still ongoing, and authorities are still searching for the hit and run driver.
A hit and run accident is a challenging situation to be in. Not only is a victim left with the injuries and damages, but they are also left with many questions. Knowing that the negligence of another driver caused the incident is a difficult situation to process; however, victims could take action to better their situation. Once the driver is located, it is possible to file a legal action against them. This could help with the recovery of compensation through a personal injury action.
